Who we are

The Bahá’í community in Williamson County is comprised of people from all backgrounds and walks of life. Inspired by the core beliefs of the Bahá’í Faith: the oneness of God, the oneness of humanity, and the oneness of religion, Bahá’ís come together for devotional gatherings, community building, and humanitarian activities. Together we are striving to build a loving community that demonstrates practical solutions to the challenges of modern society. We believe that our experience is a source of optimism for all who share our vision of humanity as one global family, and the earth as one homeland.

Currently, the Bahá’í community in Middle Tennessee has grown to about 1,000 adults, youth and children. The Middle Tennessee Bahá’í community Center is located at 1556 Bell Road, Nashville. The population of the Bahá’í community in the United States tops 150,000. The size of the worldwide Bahá’í community can be estimated at six million widely spread throughout the planet. In fact the Bahá’í Faith is the second most widely spread religion in the world after Christianity.

The Bahá’í Faith is administered by elected bodies at local, national and international levels. It does not have clergy or individuals in positions of personal leadership. A fundamental principal of the religion is independent investigation of truth, which means every person should search for the truth of any faith independently without any undue influence by others and ascertain for her/himself if its message is valid and divine.
